On April 23rd, we honor and celebrate Ogou Feray, the lwa of iron. He’s associated with war, justice, fire, healing, power, transformation, martial arts, protection, and metal workers. He’s also known as Ogou or Ogun Fegay in Sanse and 21 Divisiones and Papa Ogou in Haitian Vodou. The name Ogun originates from West Africa and refers to an orisha who’s also a warrior and a blacksmith. Ogou Fegay receives a machete, red candle, cigar, red beans and rice, barbancourt rum, and pork in some houses of Sanse. In 21 Divisiones, many serve him with red roosters, and in Haitian Vodou, some houses offer him goats or bulls. He is served with the color blood red and sometimes blue in Sanse, red, black, and green in 21 Divisiones, and red and blue in Haitian Vodou.

He’s often syncretized with Saint James whose feast day is today. Some houses syncretize Ogou Feray with San Santiago or the armored warrior fighting behind him in most battle scenes. Ogou Feray is a much hotter spirit than the other ogunes. He is a ferocious warrior. Like sparks that fly when a blacksmith hammer hits hot metal, Ogou Feray charges into battle. He loves war and is an assassin. He expects precision and military discipline. Ogou Feray works tirelessly, without nurishment or rest until he’s victorious. He’s a fierce protector of his children. Call him only when you’re ready to move forward because he’s impatient and aligns with decisive action.

He’s often married or paired with Ezili Dantó and was also an integral part of the Haitian revolution. He takes down oppressive regimes through bloody means. He can be served with the Haitian flag. In some houses, he’s partnered with Ezili Freda. Women who are Vodouisants often marry him for his aggressive protection.

This oil is handcrafted by Sancista Jennifer with the highest quality traditional ingredients available. It was created on Ogou Feray’s feast day, prayed over for 9 hours, and charged on his altar. Sancista Jennifer decorated the bottles with various gemstones, pearls, and Czech glass beads.

This Ogou Feray Oil is made with ruby, red diamond, red carnation, and other flowers, herbs, palos, roots, and high-quality essential oils suspended in an organic fractionated coconut oil.

This oil is all natural. There are no fragrance oils or dyes. It contains mostly organic ingredients.

We have two sizes available: 1/3 oz and 1/2 oz. Prices vary per size.
