Lingeer/Lingeure was the title given to the mother or sister of a King in pre-colonial Senegal. The world “Lingeer” means “Queen” or “Princess” in the Wolof language. These powerful women were said to both make and unmake Kings and history remembers their significance in resistance efforts to colonial conquest. These beautiful Lingeer dolls, handmade by the Wolof of Senegal, honor and represent the eternal power, strength, and countless contributions of African Queens thought the world, yesterday and today.

It measures approximately 13” high, 3” wide, and 3” deep. Her arms are moveable. She’s light orange with some pink tone or almost salmon colored.
